Chat Pals Community Impact Survey Results

A recent survey evaluating the impact of our Chat Pals program was conducted, and the results are very encouraging. Chat Pals is designed to promote friendships through developing caring connections via a weekly phone or video call. Participants in the program are older adults, age 55+, and volunteers are adults age 18+. This intergenerational connection is more than a wellness check-in. Participants and volunteers develop real friendships, and both parties report feeling less isolated and lonely. Some have even continued their relationship outside the program, meeting “in real life” to continue fostering the friendship.
An article in Cleveland.com’s Kindland series from December 2023 talks about the serious consequences of loneliness and isolation, and how Chat Pals helps combat those feelings. The full article can be read here.
